Mr. Archie Kee, 51, of Garysburg, North Carolina, and a son of the late Robert Kee and Patricia Branch Kee, embarked on life’s journey on January 16, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He departed this life on October 20, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

As a youth, he was led to Christ, was baptized and joined Refuge Temple in New York, New York.

Archie was educated in the New York City Public School System. Having a zeal for higher learning, he pursued his educational progression by attending Schenectady Community College in Schenectady, New York and studied Criminal Justice.

Archie found great joy and comfort in working in various health care facilities in the State of New York where his smile radiated and touch the lives of the many residents.

Archie was a bigger than life type of person. He enjoyed life and he lived the life he loved. His family was his pride and joy and reveled in their successes and happy events.

Archie cherished his wife, children and grandchildren with an unconditional love. The bond he shared with his mother and brother was phenomenal. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Michelle Kee.

Archie had many hobbies including, listening to music, working on cars, and electronics.

With joy and love, he was wedded to his beloved wife, Holly Crews Kee of the home and together they rejoiced in the lives of their three children: Tamika Kee of Atlantic City, NJ, Archie Tate of Bronx, NY, and Anthony Crews of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren: Meosha Kee-Sims and Alchino Blakey of Atlantic City, NJ; his mother: Patricia Branch Kee of Bronx, NY; a brother: Michael Kee (Jeryl) of Bronx, NY; a nephew: Michael Kee, Jr. and a niece: Shiobhan Kee of Bronx, NY; his aunts: Missionary Thelma Vassor of Newington, CT, Porsha Harrell of Emporia, VA; one great-aunt: Euniceteen Kee of Bronx, NY; uncles: James Branch of Bronx, NY; Claudie Branch, Johnnie Mack Kee, and Johnathan Kee, all of Pleasant Hill, NC; sisters-in-laws: Mariam Crews, George Texas, Johnnie Crews of Yonkers, NY, Cathy Crews of Bronx, NY, Crystal Crews of Yonkers, NY and Melody Crews of Yonkers, NY.

A Visitation for Mr. Kee will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 31, 2013, in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Garysburg, NC.
